iGaming Enthusiasts In For A Treat At SIGMA 2018

SIGMA 2018 is the most talked-about expo in iGaming circles, and this year it will be held at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre in Ta’ Quali from the 28th to the 30th of November.

The summit, which is in its fifth year running, is the annual networking event of the year and a one-stop source of information for all industry insiders. SIGMA 2018 looks set to celebrate the best gaming companies with a record attendance of 12 000 visitors from 80 countries around the world, 400 exhibitors and sponsors, and 200 speakers.

The summit will kick-start with the iGaming Awards on November 27, and a friendly Poker tournament will follow the awards at Portomaso Casino. Games developers can also put their serious skills to the test in the first of a three-day hackathon. The expo will feature this hacking challenge as one of its many workshops, which promises a $50 000 prize to the most adept hacker.

Record-Breaking Attendance

The awards ceremony has already sold out, with 1000 delegates having booked out the venue for the evening. The black-tie charity event will honour companies shaking up the fraternity in Malta.

The President of Malta, Her Excellency Marie Louise Coleiro Preca will be in attendance as will Malta’s national treasure, Joseph Calleja who released his album ‘Calleja Verdi’ in February this year.

Six workshops and conferences will be hosted. The workshops will cover the latest gambling regulations in Africa, the iGaming Act in Malta and legal changes in eSports gambling. Blockchain will be unpacked by Blockchip’s Mark Suwan, as will licensing regimes in key markets. Women in particular stand to benefit from those workshops focused on growing their businesses and their g careers. SIGMA Pitch offers young entrepreneurs the opportunity to grow their brands. At least 100 start-ups will be represented and be given the opportunity to explore funding and mentoring opportunities. They also stand to gain valuable exposure through networking.

The company making the winning pitch will win their space on the expo floor.

An Unmissable Event

As far as the conferences go, DGaming will provide an overview of decentralized gaming. Promising not to disappoint are the eSports Conference, chaired by Ivan Filetti Head of Business Development at Gaming Malta and the Conference of Payments and Conference for Affiliates. Speakers include Heathcliffe Farrugia, MGA CEO and AI guru Angelo Dalli.

Located at a bigger and more luxurious venue than in previous years, delegates can attend a Crypto 3D cruise before enjoying a closing night party.

December 1 officially closes events with a lavish champagne brunch.
