Tabcorp Named Official NFL Partner In Australia
Whilst the exact scope of the deal in terms of specific provisions wasn’t revealed by either party, Tabcorp was at liberty to confirm that the agreement will enable the operator to create NFL-specific and exclusive sports betting content on any and all of its Aus-based brand platforms.
NFL Does A 180 Turn-Around
Tabcorp will also make available to Australian bettors the NFL’s Pick-‘em free to play football game via the league’s Nflpickem.com.au domain. Tabcorp will going forward also be streaming NFL footage, along with one NFL game per week via its retail outlets across the country. This will be done in collaboration with Sky Channel.
The NFL-Tabcorp deal is the latest in a long line of strong new partnerships between the NFL and various sports betting operators. This after the NFL for many years professed sports betting to be nothing short of the makings of the disintegration of upstanding societal values. But money talks, as the old saying goes.
The league in January took a major step in the direction of large-scale progress when it named Caesars Entertainment its “official casino partner”.
GVC Appoints New Aus CEO
Also on the Australia front, GVC Holdings has named Dean Shannon the new CEO of its Australia operations. Shannon succeeds Jason Scott, who oversaw the group’s Aus operations in a temporary capacity and since 2017 when Shannon left the group’s Australian headquarters in order to facilitate the establishment of GVC’s Neds brand.
GVC Holdings big boss Kenny Alexander has lauded Scott for his sterling and selfless service to the group during his time in the temporary position. Alexander also applauded what he referred to as Shannon’s “entrepreneurial skills” and said that he had full confidence in the newly appointed CEO’s capabilities and that he and the rest of the GVC management team were completely relaxed in the knowledge that Shannon would serve the group’s Australia operations with absolute zeal and unwavering commitment.
Aussie ops will enjoy “greater success in the future” with Shannon at the steer of operations. said a confident Kenny Alexander during a recent interview.
